1. Determine the pollution period and pollution level of the lines
It is necessary to correctly understand the degree of atmospheric pollution and the nature of the pollution in the areas where the lines pass, and correctly divide the pollution areas in each area, so as to provide a reliable basis for the anti-pollution flashover work;
2. Clean the insulators regularly
Before the pollution season comes, clean the insulators one by one. To clean the insulators, use a dry cloth, a damp cloth, a cloth dipped in gasoline (or a cloth dipped in soapy water) , and the insulator cleaning agent which can be applied directly with good time-saving effect. For insulators with serious pollution that are not easy to clean in site, the old insulators can be replaced by the new ones, and the old insulators can be brought back to the factory for cleaning.
3. Replace the bad and zero-resistance insulators
The zero-resistance and bad insulators should be measured regularly for the insulator string, and the bad and zero-resistance insulators should be replaced in time, so that the lines will always maintain an insulation level to prevent pollution flashover.
4. Increase the unit leakage ratio of the insulators
The greater the leakage current on the surface of the insulators is, the more serious the pollution flashover will become, and the magnitude of the leakage current is inversely proportional to the unit leakage ratio of the insulator string. Therefore, it is possible to increase the number of insulators or change the insulators into pollution-resistant insulators to increase the unit leakage ratio of the insulator string.
5. Use composite insulators
The composite insulator is composed of a core rod made of epoxy glass fiber rod and silicone rubber as the basic insulator. The tensile strength of epoxy glass fiber rod is quite high, and the silicone rubber insulated umbrella skirt has good pollution flashover resistance, so the use of composite insulators is an effective measure to prevent pollution flashover.
6. Use hydrophobic anti-fouling coating
For insulators in severely polluted areas, anti-fouling coating such as silicone rubber can be regularly applied to the surface when necessary to enhance their anti-fouling ability. When conditions permit, semiconductor glaze insulators can also be used.
7. Use anti-fouling insulators
Anti-fouling insulators mainly achieve the purpose of anti-fouling by changing the surface structure of the insulators and increasing the insulation creeping distance. Anti-fouling insulators include anti-fouling hanging bottles used on lines and bus bars, anti-fouling bushings used on main transformers and switches, and anti-fouling insulating pillars used on knife switches. Connecting the knife switch anti-fouling insulating pillars with creepage distance extender will make it work better when they are used together. The main advantage of anti-fouling insulators is that they are easy to use without increasing workload and maintenance after replacement.
